HCCMC follows the decisions of the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) regarding cancellations of members meeting (including committee meetings) and events. If MCPS opens two hours late or closes, all HCCMC meetings and events will be cancelled for that specific day. If MCPS is dismissed early, all HCCMC evening meetings and events will be cancelled. Candidate endorsement
3-31-08 The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County is endorsing the campaign of Nancy Navarro for the county council District 4 special election. The chamber invited the leading candidates to interview and in the end decided Navarro to be the best candidate to represent the HCCMC members' interests.
Act TODAY to repeal the Tech Tax
3-31-08 The Senate Budget & Tax committee will hear leadership's proposal for repeal on Tuesday. To be sure it passes out to the full Senate, we need one or two more affirmative votes! If it fails here, the game is over and the tax goes into effect on July 1st.
We need to make a MAJOR IMPRESSION today. PLEASE call your representatives, and tell them to "please support the compromise proposal to repeal the tech tax. It's critical to Baltimore County's economy and Maryland's future. Please vote for full repeal."
