Minority Procurement Event POC 2010 June17th Postponed

Dear Sponsor, Friend and Participant,

We will have to postpone our POC 2010 Minority Procurement Conference that had been scheduled for Thursday, June the 17^th, 2010.  I know many businesses were looking forward to participating and I regret that circumstances beyond our control contributed to this difficult decision to postpone the event to a later date.  Thank you to all those of you who have helped us prepare for this event, especially Montgomery College of Takoma Park, the Small Business Development Center, Federal National Payables, the Maryland Judiciary, Theo Desrivieres of Pre-Paid Legal, and Diana Leon of Merrill Lynch. We will meet to plan for a new date in the near future.

The Mario Loiederman Procurement Center is still open for business, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery County remains committed to providing business development and procurement assistance to minority and women owned businesses.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you great news about the Maryland Judiciary and their terrific success in our joint outreach to our member small businesses last Thursday.  The event proved that open, meaningful and productive dialog between government and minority small businesses can result in increased contracting opportunities and better teamwork. Larry Jones, MBE coordinator for the Maryland Judiciary, was the mastermind of this successful joint Hispanic Chambers event, teaming with the Maryland, Baltimore, and Montgomery County Hispanic Chambers.  I look forward to more business opportunities of this kind with federal, state and local government offices in the near future.  Small business successes will ensure a better economic climate for us all.
